LINED GATE VALVES
PTFE Lined Gate Valves
Cast Steel or SS Body Valves
WHAT IS A GATE VALVE
A gate valve, also known as a sluice valve, is a valve that opens by lifting a barrier out of the path of the fluid. Gate valves require very little space along the pipe axis and hardly restrict the flow of fluid when the gate is fully opened. The gate faces can be parallel but are most commonly wedge-shaped.
Resistochem’ s Lined Gate Valve are developed specifically for the purpose of regulating corrosive media in typical applications. The inside surface of its body is covered with fluorine-based plastic such as FEP/PFA/PTFE for the ideal corrosive protection.
Gate valves are used to shut off the flow of liquids rather than for flow regulation, which is frequently done with a globe valve. When fully open, the typical gate valve has no obstruction in the flow path, resulting in very low flow resistance. The size of the open flow path generally varies in a nonlinear manner as the gate is moved. This means that the flow rate does not change evenly with stem travel. Depending on the construction, a partially open gate can vibrate from the fluid flow.
Resistochem cc’s PTFE lined gate valves can be broken down into two categories:
Rising stem gate valves: where the disc moves up and down in unison with the valve stem as it rotates;
Non-rising stem gate valves: where the disc remains stationary while the stem moves up and down in response to the stem’s rotation.
EXTENDED SPINDLES
Extension spindles are used for access to operation of valves installed below ground or above ground in places where the valves are not easily accessible. Extension spindles are easy to use and made of steel with corrosion-resistant materials or paint on fully automated production equipment to ensure a uniform and long-lasting quality.
